SCOTT REED, CEO

Scott is a firm principal and serves as CEO. He has been in the investment industry since 1985 and dedicated the first 21 years of his career to the brokerage firm J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, Inc, where he met future partner John C. Hardy. During Scott’s last five years at Hilliard Lyons, he managed the brokerage’s Mississippi operations.

A Certified Investment Management Analyst SM and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary AnalystSM Scott also earned the Endowments and Foundations Certificate at the Wharton School of Business in 2006. He gives back to his industry as a member of the National Council on Planned Giving, the Planned Giving Council of Northeast Mississippi, and the Investment Management Consultants Association. He also pens a financial column, which launched in 1995 and is still in syndication today.

A life-long resident of Tupelo, Mississippi, Scott currently serves on the boards of the North Mississippi Medical Center, the United Methodist Foundation, the Yocona Area of the Boy Scouts of America, the Frank and Calla Bell Foundation, and the Bancorp South Arena Commission. He is a past president of the United Way of Northeast Mississippi and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Mississippi.

Scott and his wife, Annette, have two wonderfully active girls.

JOHN C. HARDY, PRESIDENT/COO

John is a firm principal and serves as President and Chief Operations Officer. He began his investment career in 1982 by joining Chandler Securities in Columbus, Mississippi, and later joined the brokerage firm J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, Inc, where he met future partner, Scott Reed.

In 2000, John graduated from the Securities Industry Institute, sponsored by the Securities Industry Association and The Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA®), a Certified Investment Management AnalystSM and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. He also graduated from the Endowments and Foundations class sponsored by IMCA® at the Wharton School of Business.

An active member of the Oxford community, John is past president of Gardner Simmons Home for Girls, and he chairs the investment committee at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. He also served on the vestry of All Saints Church in Tupelo and as a Big Brother to area youth.

John received his bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi in 1982. He and his wife, Sarah Frances, live in Oxford with their three daughters. He is an avid outdoorsman, fly fisherman, and sailor.

KEN PARKINSON, DIRECTOR OF RETIREMENT PLAN SERVICES

Ken Parkinson is Director of Retirement Plan Services. He is an investment advisory representative and maintains Professional Plan Consultant TM  (PPC)TM and Accredited Investment Fiduciary AnalystSM (AIFA®) designations. 

Prior to joining Hardy Reed LLC, Ken was a 15-year veteran with one of the country’s largest retirement planning firms. Specializing in group plan design, employee education and holistic financial planning, Ken has served corporations, healthcare, governmental and university employers in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia.

Ken serves on the board of Lafayette-Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow (LOFT), a community affiliate of the CREATE Foundation, and the Oxford Endowment for Public Education. A clean-water advocate, Ken is a trained volunteer for Living Waters for the World whose Oxford team recently installed a community water purification system in the Yucatan region of Mexico. 

A native of Georgia, Ken is a graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, with a double major in economics and psychology.  He and his wife, Laura, reside in Oxford with their daughter and son.

RICHARD L. HILL, FINANCIAL PLANNING COORDINATOR

Rick Hill specializes in long-term financial planning for the firm’s high net-worth individuals and is instrumental in conducting investment research for the financial planning process. He holds a Series 65 license.

A graduate of Mississippi State University, Rick earned degrees in engineering technology and business management. Before starting his career in financial planning, Rick was the industrial engineering manager for True Temper, the world’s number one golf-shaft manufacturer.

Rick and his wife, Carla, reside in Saltillo and have three children. They are charter members of the Tupelo Symphony Chorus.

ANITA GIGLIO, DIRECTOR OF CLIENT SERVICES

Anita Giglio is a principal in the firm and serves as Director of Client Services, overseeing all the trading, client relations, and administrative duties. She began her career in the financial services industry more than 21 years ago.

Anita earned her B.S. in Business Education from Mississippi State University. In 2004, she earned the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist SMthrough the College of Financial Planning.

A life-long resident of Tupelo, Anita is a member of the Tupelo Baptist Church and currently serves as church secretary. She is past president of the Tupelo Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. Anita is married to Allen Giglio and resides in Tupelo.

JACKIE ARMSTRONG, DIRECTOR OF CLIENT EVENTS

Jackie Armstrong directs the flow of communications, client events and scheduling. She has 18  years of experience in the financial services industry and has earned prestigious industry awards for both compliance excellence and client service.

Prior to joining the firm, Jackie worked as a registered assistant for Deposit Guaranty National Bank, Smith Barney, and J.J.B. Hilliard, W. L. Lyons, Inc.

She is a graduate of Hinds Community College in Jackson, Mississippi. She volunteers with the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, United Way, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Habitat for Humanity and the Stewpot.

Jackie resides in Tupelo with her husband, Vic, and their daughter.
